Kyle Busch issues apology letter

Via Kyle Busch Motorsports:

To all,

I’ve had a lot of time today to sit and reflect, and try to put my thoughts into words as best I can.

I want to sincerely apologize for my actions during Friday night’s Truck Series race at Texas.

I apologize to my fans, all my sponsors, everyone at Joe Gibbs Racing and Kyle Busch Motorsports.

After talking with my team, it’s great to have their support and encouragement to assure me that there are better days ahead. Even though this took place while driving for Kyle Busch Motorsports, I am sorry for how difficult this has been for everyone associated with Joe Gibbs Racing’s Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series teams.

I’d also like to apologize to Ron Hornaday Jr., and everyone associated with the No. 33 team in the Truck Series.

I understand why I was taken out of the car for the rest of the weekend. NASCAR officials had to act, and I accept their punishment and take full responsibility for my actions.

As a racecar driver, the hardest thing to do is to sit on the sidelines listening to cars on the track when you know you should be out there competing. For this, I have no one to blame but myself.

Through a lot of support from the people around me, I feel like I’ve made a lot of strides this year, but this was certainly a step backward. Moving forward, I will do everything I possibly can to represent everyone involved in a positive manner. However, I know my long-term actions will have more of a bearing than anything I say right now.

Sincerely,
Kyle Busch

This guy should be banned from the Truck Series and the Nationwide Series as punishment.  It's really not fair to the drivers who are contending in these series that they have to worry about the actions of a driver who really doesn't have anything to lose.

 What a disgrace.

Kyle Busch is one of the best drivers in NASCAR. Rubbin is racing. I remember Dale and Labonte many years ago. Dale wrecked Labonte on last lap to win and simply said that is racing. Later that year Labonte returned the favor at Bristol I think and Dale had nothing to say. Didn't see any suspensions after that one huh. Kyle is just a hard nose racer and would not do anything to hurt anyone. I am sure I will get blasted for that but it is true guys and gals.

True? Not even close and this is apples and oranges. Kyle wrecked the man under caution.

KB is bunk, easy to apologize after an infantile move, and should have been punished further for his actions in the truck race.  Rubbin' is racin' but he has taken it so very too far so many times with his childish moves that NASCAR should pile on suspensions since he is a repeat offender.

He is my favorite racer on the other hand so I love to see that he is still in action for the year.

good lord, who does he think he is...he really could have seriously injured Ron Hornaday, or worse!...that self serving "aplology" is too little, too late!!!

and he's been to the Winner's Circle 18 times across the 3 series this year...you'd think somebody somewhere would have told him to ack like a champion...

   He's a screwball with a nut loose

Hey Nascar, what's his punishment if he injures Hornaday???...give him that!!!... and send back that insincere i'm sorry not really cover his bases note....did he really apologize to his fans, ...what a joke

The only thing Kyle is sorry for is that he got parked! He showed the real Kyle Busch in his interview after he wrecked Hornaday.

NASCAR has promoted a more aggressive rubbing and bumping now for awhile. Kyle on the other hand has be denting and crashing for even longer. No, he is not the new #3 as Dale was a master of using the draft to get opponents' cars loose although sure, like a drivers, was in some crashes too.
Kyle will kill someone or himself... whether on or off the track. NASCAR doesn't need hot heads. Kyle, either grow up or get out.

Kyle was saying it was Rons fault for going 3 wide but Ron was ahead of Kyle so Kyle should have backed off in the coener not Ron. Kyle is a dope.
